Welcome to the West Deerfield Township Independent Party (WDTIP) website.
The WDTIP was initially formed to address the excesses of Township officials and restore sensible priorities. These excesses included an Imperial like attitude demonstrated by the incumbents (one even calling constituents “The Whiny People”), a 53% increase in the tax levy, awarding contracts without competitive bids, and spending roughly 89% of tax revenue on employees, consultants, and overhead.
Additionally, they awarded a 25 year sweetheart lease to a friend and mentor of the Township Supervisor at only $550 per month including all utilities (we will have more on this as it develops).
What finally broke the camel’s back was the dishonesty demonstrated by those elected to serve us when they secretly voted themselves a pay raise. A 12% salary increase in recessionary times, only to be announced after the election.
Although the WDTIP won a key Township Trustee seat, our Party building has just begun. Join us in taking back the Township from these individuals. If you believe our elected officials should be honest, forthcoming, individuals of impeccable integrity, you belong with the Independent Party.
